In India people worship trees

The idea behind worshipping trees is to make people aware of nature and, indirectly, teaching benefits of tree not only for human lives and survival rather for all living beings in any forms.
This practice of worshipping trees is as ancient as the sanātana dharma सनातन धर्म or later named as hinduism.
It's was believed people would not cut trees unnecessarily if they worship it.
It was a way of teaching
Though many people who are not aware of this think it's superstitious of hindus worshipping trees.
For example Hindu worship Peepal trees because it gives oxygen 24/7.
It's only found in Āryāvarta आर्यावर्त or Indian sub continent.
They worship Banyan trees as it's grows vast and provides shed.
They also worship Tulsi Neem which now have been scientifically proven to heal many human diseases which are said to be non curable in modern medical.
Bhaṅgā भङ्गा , that refers to the medicinal plant known Cannabis sativa Linn. (marijuana), is also a sacred plant in India for the devotees of Lord Shiva शिव and the sādhu साधु.
